Our Painted collections use a blend of solid wood (pine, rubberwood or poplar) and MDF, allowing you to enjoy the quality and character of real wood beneath our stylish paint finishes. We use a combination of MDF, oak, and oak veneer for the tops.

We craft our Oak ranges are from sustainably sourced North American or European White Oak. To reduce wood movement and warping from heat or moisture, we occasionally incorporate veneers or manufactured panels.

Each piece features natural characteristics like knots, subtle colour variation, medullary rays, small cracks, and grain differences—these reflect the uniqueness of real wood and are not defects. Since every piece is handmade, no two items look exactly alike.

Our Sintered Stone collection offers exceptional durability. This material resists high temperatures, moisture, and weather, making it ideal for various spaces. Because it’s non-porous, it also resists mould, mildew, and bacteria—delivering hygienic benefits for your home. It’s also stain-proof, food-safe, easy to clean, and difficult to scratch or chip.

Knots form where branches once grew, making them a fascinating and completely natural feature. Since all trees have branches, your item will likely include knots.

Medullary rays—visible patterns that form during rapid growth—indicate the use of high-quality timber. These rays carry nutrients and water from the tree’s core and help stabilise the wood by distributing stress and supporting new cell growth.

Every tree matures differently, which creates unique wood grains. These natural variations in grain and colour, known as growth rings, represent the tree’s life cycle and aren’t faults.

This sideboard is a great representation of the different types of wood patterns, grains and rays you may find in your furniture and makes each piece unique.

Your wooden furniture might release a natural odour shortly after you unpack it. This scent usually comes from waxes, lacquers, paints, or the wood itself. To speed up dissipation, try opening a window.

Avoid placing your furniture near heat sources like radiators. Wood expands and contracts when exposed to temperature changes, and excess moisture can cause panels to shift. Provide proper ventilation to minimise these effects.

Over time, natural light will gradually alter the colour of your furniture. You can slow this ageing process by limiting direct sunlight exposure.

Always use coasters and placemats when placing hot drinks or dishes on furniture.

Avoid bleach, abrasive cleaners, or all-purpose sprays like those used on kitchen counters. These may damage the surface.

Some furniture pieces, such as tables, chests, and wardrobes, can be heavy and awkward to lift. Always ask someone to help lift these items—never drag them, as that can cause damage.

Before cleaning any item, test a small area first. If unsure, seek professional cleaning advice.

Painted surfaces are easy to clean. Dust or wipe weekly with a dry or microfibre cloth. Avoid leaving water spots, as they may create permanent marks.

Lacquered furniture has a stained base with a glossy lacquer topcoat that seals the surface while allowing the wood to breathe. Although the lacquer offers minor protection, always use mats and coasters. Wipe spills promptly with a dry cloth to prevent damage. Regular water exposure can dull the finish and cause veneers to lift.

You can clean lacquered furniture with a lightly damp cloth, but dry it immediately afterward. Use a soft cloth for dusting and apply a natural furniture polish occasionally.

Waxed furniture receives a similar base treatment to lacquered pieces, but we apply a wax topcoat instead. Wax doesn’t seal the wood like lacquer does, so it absorbs elements from its environment—like smoke or spills. Always use mats and coasters for hot items, and clean spills immediately.

Dust regularly with a dry, soft cloth. Never use a damp cloth, as this can strip the wax coating.

Re-wax your furniture periodically based on how much wear it receives. For example:

• Wax a chest of drawers once a month.

• Wax a frequently used dining table twice a month.

• Wax the full unit every 6–12 months.

Regular waxing hydrates the wood and keeps the colour vibrant. Neglecting to wax may cause fading or even splitting.

Mattress fillings settle over time. Don’t worry if you notice hollows forming where you sleep—this is normal and reflects the filling adjusting to your body weight.

Follow these guidelines for even settlement and a longer mattress life:

• Regular Turn Mattresses: Turn and rotate weekly for the first 3 months, then monthly.

• No Turn Mattresses: Rotate weekly for the first 3 months, then every 3 months.

• Zip & Link Mattresses: Unzip, turn, and rotate both parts together. Keep labels and zips aligned.

Use a high-quality mattress protector to prevent staining or discolouration. This also helps uphold your mattress guarantee. Avoid plastic sheets, as they cause condensation that can lead to damage. Any stains will likely void the guarantee.

Air your mattress weekly by folding back the bedding to allow airflow.

Dust leather (or bonded leather) regularly with a clean, dry cloth. Vacuum between cushions to remove debris. Apply leather conditioner annually, following product instructions. Clean spills immediately using a dry cloth—never soak the leather or use unsuitable cleaning products. Buff out minor scratches with a clean microfibre cloth.

Position your sofa thoughtfully—exposure to light, especially sunlight, will fade fabric over time.

Vacuum your sofa at least once a week to prevent dust and dirt buildup. Try to vary where you sit to ensure even wear.

If spills occur, blot gently with kitchen roll—don’t rub. Contact a professional cleaner and let them know what caused the stain.
